Kirkhill Cottage Self-Catering

Self catering comfort in a charming rural location

Set in the small village of Caputh, near to Claypotts Farm, Caputh Church and the quaint Caputh village hall, this semi detached self catering cottage, decorated in the distinctive blue and white livery of the Glendelvine Estate, offers bright and comfortable self catering accommodation.

Backing onto open fields leading to up to Caputh Hill, Kirkhill Cottage puts you firmly away from the bustle of town.  Guests can enjoy the beautiful countryside from Kirkhill’s safely enclosed garden - perhaps even seeing the red kites, pheasants, roe and fallow deer which have been spotted by previous guests.  From the garden gate there are opportunities to walk up across Caputh Hill towards Dunkeld on the old ‘coffin trail’ or down to stroll along the banks of the Tay to stand where Georgina Ballantine caught her record salmon back in 1922.

For those keen to explore further afield you can choose to travel on or off the established tourist trails and there’s a wealth of things to see and do.  It’s all within easy reach of Kirkhill Cottage which is set just four miles from Dunkeld and the A9 or the A93 leading from Perth up to Glenshee, Braemar, Balmoral and beyond.

Kirkhill is also pet and children friendly.

“Beautiful location” November 2014
The cottage is really well located to a number of attractions such as scone palace. The cottage was spacious, kept in a good condition & had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay here and we would recommend it highly.

“Well equipped comfort” October 2014
I had a 5 night stay at Kirkhill cottage and was really pleased with the overall comfort and how well equipped the cottage was. It had everything I needed and I won't hesitate to book again if staying in the area.

“Lovely comfy cottage” August 2014
This cottage was much nicer than the photos on the website showed. Good size bedrooms and well equipped kitchen; I always take a few extra cooking utensils with me as some places we have styed in have only had the bare minimum in the kitchen but I didn't need to have done for Kirkhill Cottage. A park and playing field with goal posts just 300 meters down the hill was enjoyed by the children in the evenings and we were well positioned to enjoy days out at Scone Palace and Blair Atholl Castle; both good family days out.

“Cosy cottage, great location” June 2014
The cottage is located perfectly in order to reach various places, i. e. the highlands, the coast, the city etc. The house has been furnished lovingly and everything that we needed was there. We slept very well in the beds and the location is very quiet at night. Also the garden facing the forrest is a wonderful addition. Great for having cocktails outside and watch the birds. There were even pheasants walking around the parking area. Fantastic! Beautiful birds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at kirkhill cottage and we would book it again.
